Its always interesting how polarized opinions can get depending on where you look. Anyway, someone posted this and I felt the need to share.

Hey, I remember that... Happened at a local town park, a couple blocks away from my place here in Porto Alegre.

It's from the "critical mass ride" right?

Yup. Their rides actually pass right in front of my window. I don't really know where they meet up, but they cycled down Independência Avenue, where I live, and got hit on a side street near the Farroupilha park
I couldn't get their exact route, but this is pretty close to where they went that afternoon, except they circled all the way around the two marked hospitals and down João Pessoa Avenue.
Anyways, I'm not going to say they deserved what they got, because they didn't, but, prior to that incident, they had been acting really rowdy, riding in the middle of the street, in the opposite direction to the flow of traffic, yelling at and threatening drivers... And there were kids among them to boot.
They seem to have calmed down and started acting more friendly after that. Last time they rode by I was stopped at a redlight in the Tipo and I actually rolled down my windows and greeted them as they passed. Honked and high fived and stuff. We can get along after all, can't we?
